Madan Vasishta is the Chief Advisor, Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre in New Delhi. He was born in India and moved to the United States in 1967. He received his Ph.D. from Galludet University and worked as a teacher, researcher, and administrator in various schools for the deaf. Vasishta retired from New Mexico School for the Deaf as its superintendent in 2000. He taught at Gallaudet for 10 years and retired in 2013. Currently he is working on a number of educational and research projects in India. Vasishta has written several books and articles on Indian Sign Language, education of the deaf, and educational administration.
